One of Bethnal Green's best kept secrets, 10 Gales is a contemporary art space, live show venue, vintage fashion boutique, coffee shop and hairdressers all under one roof. Tucked away under the railway arches by the tube station, 10 Gales aims to be a sanctuary for pretty much everything anyone in the area could want. Late night art openings tend to happen on the first Thursdays of most months while events are often themed around exhibitions to heighten the combined experience. The Cut & Go hairdressing salon offer prices ranging from ?5 to ?15. Coffee, cakes and biscuits are served upstairs in a relaxed and seductive environment where you can leaf through the latest fashion and art magazines or get on with checking your emails on Wi-Fi. There's a good collection of vintage and brand-spanking new designer clothing in the fashion boutique, which also boasts collections of contemporary jewellery made by up-and-coming designers, plus an extravagant range of designer shoes and handbags.
