Formerly known as Hackney Arts Centre, EartH (short for Evolutionary Arts Hackney) is a multi-arts space in what was once the derelict Savoy Cinema on Dalston's bustling Stoke Newington Road in east London. The art deco building, which has been largely unused since the 1990s, has been restored into an arts venue by the same team behind the Village Underground in Shoreditch. Programming is broad, global and includes live music, theatre and dance, as well as performance art, talks and debates, comedy, and film. EartH encompasses three main areas that have been faithfully restored: the theatre, the stalls of the cinema (now the concert hall), and EartH Kitchen, on the first floor, which occupies the cinema's original foyer. There's music throughout the building everything from raucous Thursday jazz nights to low-key Sunday DJ sets at the 120-seat restaurant.
