Part of the Proud Galleries family, Proud Central became The Strand Gallery in 2010 expanding from a photography gallery to an exhibition space for all disciplines of creative media. The gallery hosts a varied roster of free contemporary art exhibitions which change frequently. Gallery owner Alex Proud started out as a Japanese antiques dealer but a twist of fate led Proud to switch to photography. Of the three Proud Galleries this one just off Trafalgar Square is the more mainstream venue. The original, at Camden Stables Market, offers a more 'street' vibe and includes 'At Proud', a lively DJ bar and popular drinking terrace. Proud Chelsea, on the Kings Road in west London, is the place to go for a black and white iconic print of your favourite band in action.
