Now that Tottenham Hotspur are doing ok again, Seven Sisters is in need of another comedy club. Good thing then that the Red Rose Comedy Club has been resurrected after more than a year out on the sidelines. New management at The Red Rose pub in Finsbury Park heralded the return of the popular comedy club, which had been running for 20 years prior to its closure in January 2008. Taking place every Saturday night, the Red Rose Comedy Club has seen the likes of Jack Dee, Russell Brand, Al Murray, Eddie Izzard and Harry Hill perform on its stage before coming household names. There's a welcoming atmosphere and the friendly crowd are always willing to get involved. Another selling point is that the beer comes at pub prices and they serve up some good nosh too. All in all a buzzing place for a top Saturday night - especially if you stay on afterwards for the late bar with DJ until 4.30am. With Richard Herring, Scott Capurro and Shazia Mirza already performing since the reopening, the future looks rosy for the intimate North London venue.
