Nearby Shortwave Cinema

Shortwave films, a company whose primary objective was to promote emerging film and video artists, have set up this independent cinema in Bermondsey Square. As you'd expect from a group of creatives who've filmed in the Ballroom at Lost Vagueness in Glastonbury and who managed the first Bermondsey Street Festival, the films screened are of the independent and cult films variety. They also run workshops, produce their own films, promotional videos and visuals. Officially launched on 7th May 2009, there's a cafe / bar as well as the cinema - check their website www.shortwavefilms.co.uk for films and screening times. The programme includes evening sessions midweek, a kids' club and parents and babies screenings.Shortwave Cinema events
