Trying to recreate the feel of an authentic East End boozer, The George Tavern is a trendy, family run pub in the heart of East London. Once a reference point in the writing of Charles Dickens, Samuel Pepys and Geoffrey Chaucer, the Georgian building is now a hotbed for emerging artists, musician and creatives. The George also hosts its own unique art gallery with monthly exhibitions, whilst its range of charming rooms - available for hire - have been used for photo shoots by the likes of Kate Moss, Channel 4 and MTV. The pub is open 7 days a week. It serves a modestly priced menu of pub favourites and there are often gigs, film nights and vintage jumble sales going on alongside the art exhibitions.
