The Lexington is both a music venue and an English pub that thinks it's an American speakeasy. While this may sound like trying to please all of the people all of the time it is in fact a great venue to see a band. The upstairs room is small and intimate with good views of the stage from most of the room. The decor is a cut above most dingy live venues, with a glowing orange bar, and plush red velvet curtains. Downstairs there's the American bar with a bull's skull on the wall serving whiskey, lots of bourbon brands and American beers, as well as various lagers and Guinness on tap. The food is similarly southern American in style including the signature Lexington Burger. Regular live music, a weekly Rough Trade pop quiz, rock and roll bingo, a decent jukebox, and late night opening - 'til 2am most nights - make The Lexington one of the best places to go out in King's Cross.
