This architecturally designed space for the Alison Jacques Gallery, opened in 2007, is an improvement on her previous location on Clifford Street. Artists represented include Tom Stoner, a previous Beck's Futures prize winner (in 2001), whose gouache on paper figures variously perform acrobatic folk dancing, can-can kicks, synchronised swimming and yoga. He's naturally drawn to subjects focusing on rituals, group activities and social gatherings - as his 'Entourage' successfully shows. Robert Mapplethorpe and Stef Driesen are also among the 20-plus contemporary artists represented by the gallery.
