The highly acclaimed Virgin Atlantic Flying Without Fear programme has helped many thousands of people to overcome their fears of flight, ranging from discomfort at take-off, to a complete inability to board an aircraft. The one-day London courses are held at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. The Flying Without Fear team consists of current Virgin Atlantic Captains, cabin crew, consultants and trainers, all who are passionate about helping you to overcome your fears of flight. The course includes a session regarding aircraft functions, noises and safety to help attendees gain an understanding of how the aircraft operates. During the second main session a psychotherapist talks about fears and
phobias and teaches people how to control their fears, preparing them
for the flight. Following this, participants have the opportunity to go on a 45 minute flight. The aircraft used have been chartered specifically for the course. The participants are accompanied on the flight by Virgin Atlantic pilots, cabin crew and ground staff, who can support them and help alleviate any fears.
