Event: Football
The home of Championship side Coventry FC will play host to 12 football matches during London 2012, including the women's Bronze medal match on Thursday 9 August. Built in 2005, the 32,600-capacity stadium is situated close to the city centre of Coventry, which is one of 20 UK cities that has been confirmed as a London 2012 Live Site. The Midlands city will boast a big screen for broadcasting all the Olympics action at Coventry Transport Museum in the city centre.
