Covent Garden "style" bar serving cocktails and a chilled out, trendy vibe.
Considered to be one of London’s original “style” or “concept” bars, despite being on the scene for a while Detroit still continues to appear fresh, funky and vibrant. It also serves up some of the best cocktails in town. Talking of which, the décor itself is a bit of a cocktail of tastes… part sci-fi, part retro, part medieval crypt, its mish-mash of styles means that most individual tastes are catered for. Dimly lit, cosy alcoves are ideal for those seeking intimacy and seclusion, while quirky, space-age booths offer a more sociable, buzzing environment. The music is chilled, with popular Vinyl Evenings offering French, deep house and funk being held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This is a fashionable venue (with prices to match) but not painfully so. Chic rather than chichi, modern rather than modish, it offers a cool, laid back vibe that’s hard to resist.
Best for:
Cocktails in a crypt, cosy alcoves, space age styles, retro, funk and vinyl.
