A private members club located in the heart of the City opposite the Royal Exchange, Eight Bank EC3 is aimed at an older, more serious (and incomparably better off) clientele than its younger equivalents such as Houses Soho and Shoreditch. Centred on an informal, open-plan lounge, Eight provides its members with an ideal location to wind down, network, socialise or impress clients. The underground lounge has a well-stocked bar, three championship Brunswick tables, high-speed broadband connectivity and a selection of exceedingly comfy chairs and tables. There are six private rooms in the club, each offering a private bar, LCD screen with laptop interface, internet connection, DVD player and iPod dock. A restaurant serves breakfast, express lunch, three- or five-course set lunches, canapés and a buffet up until 10pm. A private dining room is available for up to 16 people while there is also a private cinema with seating for 18. With membership costing £800 plus £77 VAT per month this is clearly an establishment aimed well above the hoi polloi.
A second Eight members club with 360 degree panoramic views over the City is opening in July 2009 at Moorgate.
