This place gets its name from its former function, in the 1920s, as a place to buy toasters, Hoovers and gramaphones - the neon sign outside dates back to that time too. Now, instead of electrical goods, you get pie, fish and chips and a classic Sunday roast washed down with ales and draught beers. Cosy booths, darts, billiards and food make for a relaxing atmosphere upstairs but its in the basement that you find the real draw - a 1980s light-up dance-floor complete with flashing coloured squares. If you're old enough to have thrown some shapes on a dance floor like this the first time around, chances are you're not going to enjoy this ironic Hoxton take on it. For anyone else it's a whole lot of fun.Electricity Showrooms events
