The Half Moon is a big pub not far from the riverside in Putney. With its own live music room, it hosts an amazing array of bands. Back in the day it has been host to the likes of U2 and The Rolling Stones, and more recently Kasabian and Natasha Bedingfield. Saturday nights in the main bar are given over to resident and guest DJs playing vintage rock'n'roll, rockabilly, jive, surf, cult film soundtracks and other retro sounds, entry is free and they stay open 'til 1am. There is a dark, sultry Jazz Club on Sunday afternoons - free with your roast, not to mention a pool table, a garden for summer drinking and often a roaring fire in winter making this one of the best pubs in the area. But without doubt The Half Moon is most famous for its live music.Half Moon events
