Brixton's newest style bar impressed me most with its food (reviewed on the Restaurant section of LondonTown.com), but it is also a very cool spot.
The small upstairs bar looks more like Manhattan than Brixton, though it's filled with area's usual eccentric variety of party folk. It's an excitingly-shaped room, with a huge skylight, and the owners have sensibly done very little with it, simply adding some low sofas and a metal bar that gives the place an air of understated chic.
The cocktail list is filled with unusual ideas that you actually want to try. Ours were both imaginative and delicious, particularly a startling Pimms combination that I will definitely be coming back to several times this summer.
Though I have mixed feelings about Brixton's rapid drift upmarket, this funky bar is undoubtedly a great addition to the area.
