From the outside, Imbibe looks fairly unpromising - a brash wash of colour frames a series of large modern, windows. Inside, a strong 70s retro theme (psychedelic prints, bright orange plastic chairs, muddy brown sofas) battles against the occasional traditional touch (bare bricks walls, open fireplaces, wooden floorboards). Ok if you like that sort of thing but definitely an acquired taste. The main draw of this place is, undoubtedly, its pretty, and surprisingly large, garden. Spread over different levels, laced with decking and dotted with flowers, shrubs and the kind of delicately dangling tendrils only a budding Titchmarsh could produce, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stepped into one of the more successful Ground Force makeovers. Popular in the summer when the bbq hots up it's a worthy contendor for an al fresco drink if you're in the area.
