The Sky Bar within the Sheraton Skyline Hotel is a noble attempt to create a destination venue within the bleak monotony of Heathrow. With its high glass roof, indoor palm trees, circular bar and swimming pool it is certainly a world away from the bland lobbies that masquerade as nightspots in this part of London as a rule. We made the mistake of visiting on a quiet Tuesday evening, when metal garden furniture created the mood of a pool-bar in a mid-range Spanish resort. This is not a bad thing - you still feel like you've got away from it all - but it's perhaps not the place to bring a date. Still, this is fairly inexpensive, defiantly different, and altogether an entertaining bar to visit.
