Supperclub

 

Not to be confused with the many private supper clubs sprouting across London, Supperclub is a global chain with outlets in Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Istanbul, San Francisco and now London. Located in a converted Westbourne Park nightclub under the Westway, Supperclub combines eating with performance art. The emphasis is firmly on the latter, with serving staff doubling up as dancers to perform a medley of acrobatics and cutting-edge cabaret. The all-white room (which can be rendered purple or blue by lighting) is split on two open-plan levels and there are only a handful of tables - all the seating is on big beds built into the walls. "It's like being trapped in a fridge with the cast of The Fifth Element," says The Independent. Guests don't come for the food, which is rather average, but rather the all-round experience, which is different to say the least. DJs play loud musac as you eat while a large screen projects images of scantily clad women in various poses. It's not everyone's cup of tea but is popular with a certain young and moneyed crowd. A four-course tasting menu is priced at ?45 and there is now a monthly Saturday afternoon Love Brunch.
