The Establishment Bar & Dining

From the same team that brought you the flagship Establishment in Parsons Green comes this equally excellent Battersea branch. Occupying the site of the former American brasserie Broome & Delancey, The Establishment is pretty much a carbon copy of its Fulham mother: 70s style décor (where cowhide, antlers and tartan abound) and highly personalised service (a true breath of fresh air be it in SW6 or SW11). If anything, it's even better than the original, owing to its more spacious rooms and attractive patio. The cocktail list is inventive as it is long, the food delicious as it is British, the atmosphere is extremely laid-back and the clientele is slightly more sophisticated than your average Clapham boozer (or bar, for that matter). A fine selection of continental lagers, British ales and fine wines are on offer at the bar meaning you don't always have to shell out for the ?12 cocktails. The heated outside patio raises a cap to smokers and alfresco drinkers alike while a cosy dining area is separate from the main bar and is overlooked by an impressive open-plan kitchen (providing all the necessary noises and aromas to appease even the most refined of palates). Hearty weekend brunches are proving a hit with the clientele, too. With two successful outposts now setting high standards and pulling in the locals, this is a concept that looks set on establishing its reach further in time.
