If you're off on the Eurostar and want an old fashioned English pint before you go, by-pass the champagne bar and head for the Betjeman Arms instead. This pub, like a handful of much-loved local gastros including the Duke of Clarence in South Kensington and The Builders Arms just off the King's Road, comes under the Geronimo Inns banner. The good thing about Geronimo establishments is that you can't tell when you're in one. Each is entirely individual so there's no trademark or replicated formula. Instead you get comfortable furniture - beaten up to just the right extent and perfect for all-day lounging - excellent gastro food and a wide choice of drinks. In addition to opening this place, husband and wife team Rupert and Joanna Clevely are launching The Five Tuns at Heathrow Terminal Five to add to the 20 pubs they already own in London and the South East.
