The Britannia †

  • Visitor Information

The hanging flower baskets and cobbled lane leading to The Britannia welcome visitors to a traditional English pub. The fact that it’s also in Richmond, that leafiest of leafy London boroughs, does little to alleviate this impression. But who would want to? England’s pleasant pastures green are well-known for these kinds of ye olde establishments and this one in particular with its pretty garden and upstairs patio is perfect for an escapist evening away from the centre of town or a summer’s afternoon chill, preferably after a stroll down the river. The pub does have its moments of madness, not least of which are the Laughing Horse comedy nights on Sundays.
