While waiting for your flight departure time you could spend your spare hour or so window shopping at duty free, coveting the designer handbags or - more productively - having a decent meal at The Five Tuns. It's not going to rival Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food in the same terminal but it does serve decent gastro pub food. Rupert and Joanna Clevely have cleverly (excuse the pun) captured everything that's good about the gastro pub and created 22 uniquely individual venues across London and the South East, including sister pubs at Heathrow's Terminal 1 (The Tin Goose) and Terminal 3 (The Three Bells). Add to this The Betjeman Arms at St Pancras International and you'll see they've covered all of London's travel hot spots. It's certainly a more attractive alternative to the waiting at the gate.
