The George and Devonshire, at the top of Church Street in Old Chiswick, but only 100 yards from the river Thames, is the nearest pub to local visitor attractions such as Chiswick House, Hogarth House and Chiswick Parish Church, St Nicholas of Myra, where Hogarth is buried. Built in 1680, and operated as a public house since then the George and Devonshire features in the 2007 Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide. The pub boasts an atmospheric saloon lounge, public bar with pool table and secluded terrace. In addition, there is a separate function room for art exhibitions and music evenings. Home-cooked food is served at lunchtimes and in the evenings.
