Recently refurbished and under new ownership, the Oakhill now sparkles along Beckenham’s Bromley Road. Walk by slowly and the wooden blinds on the large windows, dark steel light fittings and warm golden glow from the well-stocked spacious central bar may make you think this is not you average pub. You’d be right. Oakhill has a landlady that values English pub tradition but doesn’t see why it shouldn’t be modernised if it can improve the ambience and result in better customer service. Fresh flowers on the bar top are a must, and in winter the three fireplaces are fired up day & night which makes having gorgeous Sunday Roasts there even more enjoyable.
An excellent selection of fine wines, guest beers, real ales and cocktails accompanies all their quality home made food. If you’re a fan of sports, their large Sky-powered plasma screen features all major events, during the week they entertain customers with excellent Quiz & Music nights.
Undoubtedly the best feature - besides the knowledgeable and friendly bar staff - is the Oakhill’s fantastic beer garden. Spread out behind the pub and easily accessed via the ‘Snug Saloon Bar’ area it overwhelms with an abundance of colourful flowers during early spring and summer.
Wooden tables, parasols for shade and a little pond complete with goldfish and fountain – what better way to enjoy a Sunday lunch or trademark BBQ with your friends and family?
