A gorgeous antique interior, a delicious menu and some top DJs at weekends. The Old Queen's Head opened with a fantastic recipe for success in 2006 and it's been full ever since. With only a nominal cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays, it's a cracking compromise between a pub and a club, or a decent warm-up for the latter. The top floor fills up so full with punters supping on rum and coke, chatting and dancing, it feels like the floor might fall through (we're sure it won't!). This is fantastic place to party. Meanwhile in the day time the downstairs is a pretty pleasant place to lounge around. Low leather sofas, stout wooden tables, delightful dark wood and high ceilings conspire for a comforting compromise between cosy and airy, traditional and contemporary. They serve a tasty array of dishes from pies to pasta and a barbecue at weekends all for under a tenner.
