The great thing about The Phoenix is that, despite its location just off the Kings Road, it remains resolutely un-stuffy. What should be a Sloane-y hang-out remains relatively unscathed by the braying locals. Instead you get a decent gastro pub, wooden tables, decent food and friendly bar staff. It's a good option for a group of you to gather to watch a big rugby or football match but with discrete TV screens the atmosphere is convivial rather than riotous. Being tucked away down Smith Street helps to keep this place a relatively crowd-free place for a pint. In summer, the few tables set up outside are a pleasant spot to stop off for lunch. The Phoenix images
