Here's another Queen from the same people who brought us the hugely poplar Islington watering hole, The Old Queen's Head. This time it's Queen Boadicea who gets her name over the door. The warrior queen is famous for leading an uprising AD 60 or 61, fighting against the Romans in the battle for London. Both Queen pubs come under The Columbo Group, owned by former Fabric man, Steve Blonde, so it should come as no surprise that the music here gets the atmosphere going - and helpfully keeps it up until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. The decor is down-to-earth, bohemian cosiness mixed with designer touches like the Tom Dixon lighting. A good option for a relaxing pie and pint and where the music gets cranked up late at night on weekends.
