Under the ownership of the Perritt brothers since March 2007 - with Andrew in the kitchen and Jonathan front of house - The Regent has turned what used to be Astons, an increasingly neglected pub, into an altogether more attractive drinking proposition. Draft and bottled beers, ales and beers on tap including San Miguel, Becks, Kronenbourg 1664, Wadsworth 6X and Adnams as well as cocktails and some well priced wines can be accompanied by classic pub grub, organic burgers and substantial Sunday roasts. This corner of Kensal Rise is far more down to earth than neighbouring Notting Hill and The Regent, right on the green, offers a respite from the pretensions of the show-off Hilly Billies. Also in the area and worth a visit is Paradise by Kensal Rise which gets our vote if it's a gastro pub you're after. Food at The Regent, though, isn't the main draw. Come for the lively DJs on a Saturday night, for the pretty walled garden, the well worn sofas and vintage look chandeliers. All of which makes this a cut above your average boozer in these parts. The Regent events
