Lambeth, and Stockwell in particular, has nearly 30,000 Portuguese ex-pat residents. To get a piece of Mediterranean atmosphere without paying for a plane ticket, either pencil in a visit to one of the many bars and restaurants along the Stockwell Road, or come to this fine Portuguese pub (formerly known as the Vasco de Gama pub). With some tasty bottled Iberian lagers (including the silky Super Bock), a tapas menu and some passionate Latin customers it's easy to imagine you're down a backstreet in Lisbon.
