This former Litten Tree pub has now been rebranded as the Wahoo Bar & Grill (following a stint as a Walkabout) and offers the same sort of thing as its predecessor - plasma screens for live sport and
a bottomless supply of run-of-the-mill lagers. But while the pub chain
may not be to your taste it does have a twist: an excellent twice-weekly stand-up night called The Comedy Tree. Running on a Thursday and
Saturday, this event is the brain-child of Australian comic Pete Jonas and his pal E. McElroy, and it should make you cast all preconceptions aside. The Comedy Tree has been bringing hilarious stand-up performances to
south west London since 2002. Renowned for its high quality line ups and
intimate atmosphere, The Comedy Tree has attracted some of the world's
beacons of hilarity, including Stephen Merchant (the tall one from
Extras) and the ubiquitous Russell Brand. The club
regularly features guest appearances from TV acts such Lee Mack, Milton
Jones and Micky Flanagan, and they also do a great Comedy, Beer &
Burger deal for just ?10 on Thursdays. For information and listings go
