It may not be London's most attractive park, but these two acres of woodland, water and wild meadow, concealed in the urban heart of King's Cross, have a 'secret garden' feel that makes them a favourite with locals and small children. Walking along the banks of the Regents canal, rounding the corner you'll find this natural environment is a haven for birds, bees, butterflies, amphibians and a rich variety of plant life. Run by London Wildlife Trust, there's an active education programme for Camden schools and individuals are welcome to drop in during opening hours or call for details of holiday play activities.
