In 2003, Chelsea FC changed from being lovable underachievers to the most hated football club in the Premiership when Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich took over, throwing hundreds of millions of pounds at the team in order to buy two Premiership titles and installing an aggressively negative brand of defensive football. In spite of the success, tickets are easier to come by than at more popular clubs like Arsenaland Tottenham, with the games at Stamford Bridge against smaller Premiership clubs seldom selling out.
