The head chef at Addendum is Serbian, and there is a distinct flavour of Eastern Europe in the sheer calorie-count offered by his cooking. If your arteries can cope, however, you are in for a treat, for this is a meat-eaters' paradise, with a menu full of spectacular treatments of the odd bits most restaurants would throw away. Tender pigs' cheeks, tangy cocks' kidneys and calf sweetbreads accompany the more standard cuts. These weighty ingredients are leavened by some spectacularly flashy combinations of flavours - this a very different take on nose-to-tail eating from the simplicity of St John. The only flaw is that the dining room has been too obviously tacked onto the hotel, and has a slightly impersonal feeling. Better for corporate entertaining than a date - but best of all for simply concentrating on some amazing food.
