In the evenings, approach this restaurant through the fountained courtyard of Somerset House to get yourself in the mood for a magical meal. The Admiralty is expensive, but for an indulgent treat and particularly to impress a loved one there are few better places. The service is discreet but extremely friendly and attentive, the wine list is comprehensive and fairly priced, and the food is a delight. The menu is seasonal, and very well constructed, including a few permanent favourites such as butternut squash tortellini. This style of French cooking is elaborate and showy, but executed with such flair and attention to detail, it produces wonders. A truly marvelous place.
