Another excellent restaurant in the Shepherd’s Market area, Al Sultan is nearly as good as local rival Al Hamra, but not quite. The menu is extensive and full of great dishes, notably the tableh and shawarma and fantastic lamb from the grill, and the pricing is very reasonable. The location is excellent but not as good as that of Al Hamra, and the service is also slighty more distant. All in all, you couldn’t possibly find a nicer Lebanese restaurant for excellent authentic food in a wonderful setting, unless you knew about the very best in town which is just down the road. Make no mistake, Al Sultan is very very good, and it’s also easier to get a table.
