Escape the teeming pavements and shopping temptations of Oxford Street and duck into this well kept secret. On the first floor of the gorgeous designer confines of the Radisson Berkshire Hotel, the expertly formulated menu demonstrates a flair for the straightforward.
An overwhelming proliferation of British-sourced ingredients made us feel well at home and then made us wonder why we’d spent the last half century looking outwards for culinary inspiration. Irish oysters, Cornish crab, Lancashire cheese, Cumbrian ham and Kentish lamb were all prepared in classic combos, presented with correspondingly timeless method.
The décor isn’t quite as traditional as the food on offer, but nevertheless it was stylishly functional and we certainly couldn’t censure it. Much like the food, it wasn’t trying to do anything new, nor dazzle you with its brilliance, nevertheless, it was quietly confident it would please.
