Brixton?s best Caribbean restaurant is a real friendly family-run place. They?ve only got a certain amount of space and furniture and whenever a large party arrives everyone has to pick up their plates and shuffle about. It can also take a while to get a drink order in, but nobody minds because the service is very friendly and efficient in the end. The food is delicious and the portions are substantial. Be warned, the side order of ?ground provisions? (yams, potatoes and dumplings) will leave you unable to move. Share one. The daily specials are probably the best thing to order, but specialties like jerk chicken and red snapper are reliably tasty. It?s a great place, extremely informal with plastic table cloths and some rowdy locals popping in. You?ll be made welcome and fed well.
