The pedigree of this tucked-away brasserie is excellent having as it does three former Annabel's employees behind it. Owner Gavin Rankin, manager Chris Steiger and head chef Stéphane Pacoud all decamped to this Mayfair brasserie, established in 2004. It's special occasion food at special occasion prices - the wine list is considered 'a thing of beauty' at 'wizard' prices by Tatler types. There's some excellent specialist fresh fish with a separate Oyster Bar offering French Belon and Fines de Claire Oysters as well as English Native and Irish Rock Oysters. Alternatively try Bellamy's famous 'open' sandwiches which help to make this a favourite amongst locals and a smattering of celebrities - Vicki Conran among them. Pop into the shop next door, inpeccably run by Richard Cooper previously of Fortnum & Mason, for delicacies like foie gras and gavalax to have at home.
