This Thai place sells itself as 'food fit for Thai royalty' with culinary consultant ML Kwantip advising on dishes that have given sustenance to the Thai royals and have been handed down through ML Kwantip's family. Guest chef at five-star Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, ML Kwantip is something of a 'celebrity chef' in her native Thailand and also has a column in a women's magazine over there. But the question is does all this make for an authentic Thai experience in Soho? Despite some early teething problems, the place is picking up with some innovative dishes: minced chicken curry puffs in a crisp pastry shell; a fragrant tom klong soup packed with succulent seafood; and plump scallops stir-fried in a black pepper sauce among them. The interior has been opulently - and darkly - done up, spread across three narrow floors, each following a different theme. The bar downstairs making a good call for a post-work cocktail.
