There is nothing better than a good steak. Were I ever sent to death row, my last meal, without any hesitation, would be Steak Bearnaise with frites - food just doesn't get any better. Black & Blue know this very well and specialise in chargrilling chunks of cow and serving them in whatever way you like. Of course, they do more than steak. The menu is a decent mix of fish, chicken and salad, so even the most inveterate steak-hater will find something to enjoy. When LondonTown.com visited we started with butterflied prawns with a chilli-dip, a light, tangy spicy dish which, while nothing new, was delicious. The main dish was, of course, the steak. My fillet came perfectly cooked - pink in the middle, scented by the grilling - and was excellent, fully flavoured and rich. The bearnaise sauce was the only minor problem, not sharp enough for my pallet, but, when the meat is this good, it doesn't matter.
The menu might not be very chic, but the food is excellent and wonderful value for money. If steak is your thing, then you have to try Black & Blue - you won't be disappointed.
