This is a great place to take a date for a slice of authentic British cuisine in wonderful surroundings. The best time to visit is in summer when the outdoor terrace seats afford a delightful view out over the river and the seasonal specialties include some excellent seafood. At any time of year though this is an extremely pleasant and well-run place, as you might expect from the D&D London (formerly Conran Restaurants) stable. The emphasis is on fish and substantial steaks, and the cooking is both elegant and straightforward; light dressings and simple treatments encourage the natural flavours to shine through. The service and atmosphere make this a faultless dining experience.
