Housed in an original Ottoman Hamam (Turkish Bath to you and me) in the midst of the City's soaring scrapers, the fact that this is actually an Italian pizzeria is just another oddity to add to rather a number of eccentricities. Unashamedly kitsch, this isn't the place for a sophisticated, quiet candlelit schmooz with a loved one but it's the perfect place for a fun, sociable soiree set to a colourful backdrop of live music. From Elvis one evening to belly dancing or flamenco the next, the entertainment is varied and decidedly exuberent. Popular with city slickers and passersby alike, the food here is surprisingly good - with pizzas their popular bill of fare - and reasonably priced. The perfect place for a birthday bash, a quick nosh-up or a fun and friendly night out, it's even got a covered terrace area for when the weather's...well... marginally more Italian than British.
