Caribbean cuisine, rum punches and great atmosphere located on the cobbled streets of Clerkenwell. The owner of Cottons decided to set up this Caribbean restaurant after he entered and won the Caribbean Masterchef competition in 2001. It is based in a large building on the corner of Exmouth Market, which boasts a great variety of shops, cafes and restaurants and is a stones throw away from Sadlers Wells Theatre. The beach shack bar is offset by chandeliers and gilted gold mirrors. In the basement of Cottons you will find the Rhum Jungle. This is the entertainment area, a palm tree clad den bursting with the flavour of the Caribbean and a selection of rums that will knock your socks off. Here they host live music nights, dance classes and comedy and cabaret events and it's a great place for an after dinner drink or dance. Try the Killer Doppi cocktail if you're feeling brave, a ferocious mix of four potent rums mixed with pineapple and fresh lime. Be warned though, the word 'doppi' is Jamaican for ghost. Happy hour is 5-7pm Monday to Saturday and another branch of Cottons can be found in lively Camden.
