Hotel restaurants are neither famed for bustling atmosphere, nor sparkling innovation. In this respect Creations is no different, but they do pull off this formal dining experience with the confident panache these days too often so lacking.
From the creaseless appearance of the waiting staff and their deferent demeanour, to the uncomplicated, wood-panelled interior and the Asian infused, but staunchly British menu, this is a restaurant from the old school. Starkly presented food in neat portions allows you to fit in all three courses without having to take a break. The only concession to modernity is the open kitchen – divided from the restaurant by a glass wall.
Once upon a time London’s hotel restaurants were considered THE place to dine. For those who appreciate the finer points of good old-fashioned hotel dining, you won’t go far wrong at Creations.
