What began as a canteen for the resident artists at the Delfina, a complex of 30 artists' studios, has now become a restaurant so popular that people make the trip to scenic Bermondsey Street just to eat there. The menu changes fortnightly and the restaurant, with Maria Elia as head chef, has a distinct Greek Cypriot flavour thanks to her father's early influence. The place does a roaring trade come lunchtime and, like much of Borough during the daytime, is popular with both men in suits and trend-conscious fashion types. We don't blame them, it's a lovely spot and the food stands up to scrutiny too.
