Eight Over Eight translates from Chinese as ‘lucky forever.’ Restaurateur Will Ricker seems to be blessed by some lucky charm judging on the success of this and his other three London eateries. Tucked away in the outer reaches of Chelsea, the atmosphere benefits from being off the beaten toff track. The menu is almost a direct replica of that at sister restaurant E & O in Notting Hill with the dim sum as the crowning glory. Select a small tasting platter piled with delicacies like steamed ginger scallops, chilli-salt squid and pork spare ribs with spiced crackling. A first class restaurant with reasonable prices, considering its location, that looks set to solidify Ricker’s lucky reputation.Eight Over Eight images
