A real find hidden inside the Hammersmith and City Line Tube Station, El Metro is a friendly, affordable place with a great atmosphere. On weekend nights El Metro should be avoided - it becomes a packed nightclub filled with overflow from nearby School Disco. However, on any normal evening or afternoon this is a great place to drop in for a nice cold beer and some tasty mezze.
Essentially this is a bar but it's lifted to another level by extremely friendly proprietors who press snack food on you, and a serious mamma in the kitchen. When we eventually gave in to the urge to order a main course, it was delicious. El Metro is a quirky, unusual place and well worth a look if you find yourself on the West Side.
