Healthy eating is top of the menu at Food Secret where nutritional information is clearly written on each sandwich, soup and salad. As well as the ready made stuff off the shelf you get creative and make up your own recipe where computer screens tell you exactly what's going into your food - in calories, carbs and saturated fats. Food Secret - a strange name given its prominent location on Broadwick Street - is not really a secret at all. Not only is the glass fronted corner cafe easy to spot but there's no secret to the ingredients either. The idea is that providing you with information - saturated fats and the percentage of protein in relation to the recommended daily amount - you can choose how healthy or indulgent you want to be. Sounds complicated but it's simple really - this is good-for-you food that's affordable, inventive and tasty. Health conscious types will love it. For the rest of us, the fact that dishes like super soup and poached salmon salad are a treat but one that we can afford to indulge in daily will keep us coming back for more.Food Secret images
