The queues out the door come lunchtime are a good yard stick of the popularity of this place. And it's not the carrot and lettuce leaf school of vegetarian food either - instead, they serve up the home cooked, hearty food that will fill you up. Helpfully, there are separate queues if you want to sit in the small basement cafe or if you prefer to take away and munch elsewhere. If the queues are anything to go by, Soho's workers could do with some more of this kind of affordable, nutrious food to fuel their day. But don't let the wait put you off, it goes quicky, the people are friendly and it's most certainly worth waiting for. If you opt to eat in be prepared to share your tiny rustic wooden table in the cosy underground space, it's all part of the fun - and you never know which eccentric characters you might meet down there. What you can be assured of is that you'll get some decent grub and, for vegetarians at least, it's one to add to a limited list of lunchtime favourites.
