Foxtrot Oscar is the ultimate Sloane hangout. Overworked city gents, ladies who have had too much lunch to face cooking dinner, and those who can afford to eat out every night, treat this place as their canteen. The space itself is packed but comfortable, and the food is simply passable... the menu is written up on a blackboard and you order as you walk in. Order the speciality of the day - it's usually considerably better than everything else. Fellow diners tend towards the loud, wealthy type with the apparent desire to share their gossip with the entire restaurant, and the food is only a cut above pub grub, but the place is friendly, cosy and not at all overpriced. As a simple option for posh locals, and a decent spot just a minute walk from the river, this place is destined to be popular forever. Foxtrot Oscar is now opening other branches but it's hard to say why... the location of this restaurant is its only selling point. Editor's note: On our last visit, slightly taken aback to be seated at a table next to Prince William. Hmmm... Notes: Booking advised. Separate room for parties.
